Heart full, over the moon from all the Birthday love. Sometimes I just sit and think about how lucky I am to have such amazing people in my life. I really don’t deserve y’all. I miss my family and friends from California. And at the same time I’m very grateful for this new life in New Mexico. Cheers to new blooms, wild dreams, and country roads XO

We were raised in my Grandparents’ house in La Palma, California. Grandma, Yvonne Lucille often referred to as Bonnie Lou, was the quintessential housewife. She had a knack for arts & crafts, made the absolute best mashed potatoes, loved pigs, knew all the neighborhood gossip, and worked at JCPenney for many years. There was actually a time we would take work breaks together when I landed my first high school job at the JCPenney photo studio. Grandma was my best friend. Some of my fondest memories are poolside with her in the backyard laughing at ourselves and playing word games in the jacuzzi. She loved listening to oldies and country music. We would catch her dancing by herself in the living room to some of her favorite jams, Wooly Bully was one of them. Grandpa, Charles Robert Caverley, worked at Hughes Aircraft and was the most intelligent man I have ever met. After retiring, he built classic cars in our garage and taught me everything I know about mechanics. Christmas at our house was epic! We went full throttle with yard decorations - motorized carousels, ferris wheels, skating rinks, you name it, we made it. Both Grandma and Grandpa roadtripped often in their motorhome with my other Grandparents, Roger (Daju) and Eva. Wanderlust, camping, and open roads run deep in our blood. You can say I grew up privileged on many accounts, the greatest being my family. I owe a lot to them and thank God every day for the blessings he bestowed upon me through their love. Holidays just aren’t the same without them, but these memories are a badge of infinite honor. Can’t wait to see y’all again in heaven.

In HEAVEN coming across a herd of wild horses just outside the historic town of Placitas, NM. Blessed to be a witness

Did you know that Cher was the original artist to sing the song “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” and that Sonny Bono wrote it? Released in 1966, Bono was inspired by the spaghetti westerns that were gracing movie screens during that time.

Nancy Sinatra’s version feels a bit more haunting with its melancholic tone emphasized by a tremolo guitar effect. It was released the same year and pretty much hid in obscurity until Quentin Tarantino used it in the opening credits for his 2003 movie, Kill Bill Volume 1.

ODEO was a lullaby my grandma would sing to me in her arms. She was my best friend growing up. I always knew that processing her physical death would be a long, arduous journey. I didn’t know she’d turn out to be my roadmap home. Guardian angels do exist✨

The ‘liminal space’ genre in photography wraps up my vibe pretty well. I like and don’t like this image for a few of the same reasons. It’s uneasy, eerie, and kind of f’d up. Perhaps an all too familiar and relatable feeling these days. I don’t know the horse’s story, but they seem isolated and lonely. I drive by almost every day and send my warmest hugs to this striking beauty. Praying with all my heart that they are a rescue.

With all that’s going on in the world and in our own lives, I know how easy it can be to view non-human animal welfare with less urgency. But for me it’s all the same; we’re all the same. All life is sacred and interconnected. The way we show up in opposition towards animal and environmental abuse is in direct correlation with human rights. And we get to make an impact every day that we are alive on this planet.

What do you see when you look at this photo? How does it make you feel? ⁣

When I first worked on this self-portrait series, there was an eerieness, a strange yet beautiful undertone that couldn’t help but make me feel like I was being haunted or chased, maybe even by my own limiting thoughts. ⁣
⁣
But now I see something a bit different in this capture. I see myself as playful, running in the wind of childlike freedom with butterfly wings, pretending to be a superhero or light warrior. I feel liberation, expansion, receptivity. I get this sense of infinite exploration into the landscapes of our manifesting desires. ⁣
⁣
The difference might be a conscious decision to focus on a narrative that serves my higher self. Maybe my beliefs have changed creating a new lens to see the story through. Perhaps my vibrational alignment is closer to feelings of joy. ⁣
⁣
The real magic is that we do have a choice. The thoughts, beliefs, and feelings we choose to focus on become our new reality. We are under no obligation to be the same person we were moments ago and play out the same story we’ve been telling ourself. Every now moment is an opportunity to see anew and create the life we desire. “A belief is only a thought you continue to think; and when your beliefs match your desires, then your desires must become your reality.” -Abraham Hicks.⁣
